German energy supplier RWE has signed an Electricity Sales Agreement (ECA) with Direct Energy Marketing Limited for the supply of renewable electricity from a solar installation in Canada. Long-term power purchase agreements are increasingly becoming an option for operators of old and new renewable energy installations. The ECA models have the advantage of not requiring participation in tenders for subsidy tariffs. This increases the flexibility of the site and accelerates the deployment of the project. RWE Supply & Trading will supply solar electricity to Bosch. The total volume is 50 megawatts. The company will source electricity from several new farms in southern Germany developed by RWE and other suppliers. These solar parks can be built through power purchase agreements and therefore do not depend on subsidies under the Renewable Energy Act. 6. August (Renewables Now) – The renewable energy sector of German energy group RWE AG (ETR:RWE) has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (ECA) for 25 MW of electrical power from a Canadian solar farm. Pexapark, a provider of software and consulting services for the sale of renewable energy after subsidy, announced that RWE Renewables, one of the world`s leading renewable energy companies with a development pipeline of more than 20 GW, has joined its PexaQuote (Power Purchase Agreement, AAE) pricing platform.
RWE Renewables, the youngest subsidiary of the RWE Group, is one of the world leaders in renewable energy. With about 3,500 employees, the company has onshore and offshore wind farms, photovoltaic installations and battery storage with a total capacity of about 9 gigawatts. ON UK, which expires in 2022. „As a Global Player, we have our own models and tools to calculate and deliver the best PPA offerings for our customers. The perspective of the outside is important to us, because we always want to learn and improve; This is also important for our customers.
A key feature of PexaQuote for us is the dynamic communication of renewable energy prices on the market, which allows us to validate the accuracy of our AAE price models. David Brast, Senior Vice President North America Gas and Power, Direct Energy Business, said, „With increasing customer demand for renewable energy, the addition of 25 MW of Direct Energy Business solar supply will help build renewable energy options for our customers and reaffirms our commitment to offering products and services that lead to a lower carbon future. By moving closer to net-zero for 2050 in Britain, we are also helping thousands of businesses across Britain take control of their energy supply, optimisation and production under one roof. . . .
